Galloway v. The Kansas City Landsmen

Welcome to the website for the proposed class action Galloway v. The Kansas City Landsmen, LLC., Case No. 11-CV-1020, pending in United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.  Here are the links to the Full Legal Notice and the Stipulation and Settlement Agreement:

 UPDATE TO SETTLEMENT:

            a.    Certificate Redemption Period:  The Court has ordered that the class members may redeem their Certificates from March 1, 2014 until August 28, 2014 at any participating Budget Rent-A-Car location listed on pages 8-9 of the Full Legal Notice referenced above.

            b.     Disposed or Destroyed Certificates:  The Court has ordered that if between November 29, 2013 and December 13, 2013 you attempted to log onto this website and were unable to so, and you consequently disposed of your Certificate prior to December 31, 2013, in order to receive a new certificate, you must send an e-mail to bgolden@gardere.com no later than March 31, 2014 with (a) your full name and address, (b) the approximate date you attempted to log onto this website and were unable to do so, and (c) a statement verifying that you disposed of your Certificate prior to December 31, 2013 due to your inability to log onto the website.  Upon verification of the information provided, your prior Certificate (with its barcode) will be deactivated and void, and a new Certificate (with a new barcode, and with an expiration date of September 30, 2014) will be mailed to the same name and address.

            c.     Expanded Exclusion Period:  Paragraph 11 (beginning on page 4) of the Full Legal Notice attached to this website provides that:

To exclude yourself from the settlement, you must send an e-mail to bgolden@gardere.com with your full name and address and the word “exclusion” in the subject line no later than January 30, 2014.  If you ask to be excluded, your Certificate (with its barcode) will be deactivated and void, and you cannot object to the settlement.  You will not be legally bound by anything that happens in the lawsuit.  You may be able to sue (or continue to sue) the Defendants in the future, provided that you have a claim, and the time limit for bringing the claim has not already expired.

The Court has ordered that the date in the above-paragraph of January 30, 2014 be modified to March 31, 2014.  Thus, the period to seek exclusion has been extended until and including March 31, 2014.
